Rosasharn's Pregnancy
I feel like something is going to happen to Rose of Sharon's baby before the end of the story. Maybe a miscarriage, or some sort of complication at birth. An infant-related tragedy would fit the tones of lost hope and regret very well, and she's so worried about her child that it almost seems like foreshadowing.

i agree. Rose of Sharon happens to have many concerns about her pregnancy after a short while of discovering her pregnancy. the time spam of how far the Joad's are going along with who knows what may happen to them that either affects them in a negative or positive outcome.
ReplyDeleteI agree to the fact that something might happen, but during the time that the story takes place in you have to remember that birth rates weren't at their highest so it kind of makes sense why she is so worried that something might happen to the child.
ReplyDeleteYou know what i couldn't quite put my finger on it but when Rose of Sharon was introduced i too did feel like something bad was going to happen. The way she is and the way she acts towards her unborn baby just doesn't seem right.
ReplyDeleteThere is also some what of a suspicion on how the lady named lisbeth sandry in chapter 22 keeps telling her and scaring her that her baby is full of sin.
