I'm not sure if Christmas really killed Ms. Burden. We don't have any evidence so far other than Brown's word, and he's not exactly truthful. Opinions?
I feel as if there is a possibility that Brown could be the one who killed Ms. Burden because he had mentioned that there was no one upstairs before, yet, he said that he had never gone upstairs. I don't really remember what part it was where I had read this but it said something like that. Jessica Yanez
I honestly believe that Brown is being untruthful because he wants the reward and he believes that if he blames Christmas for the murder he will receive the reward and his reason would because Christmas has black in his blood and no one knows about it.
I truly believe that brown had something to do with the death of ms. Burden. I think brown is framing Christmas so he isn't guilty and can get the reward. However...I wonder what is brown'a motive? Why would he get so close to Christmas in order to frame him? There has to be something we don't know. Like Christmas threatening to stop selling whiskey or something...suspicious
I feel brown does just want the reward and he's using the fact that Christmas was drunk and because of his "race" and so far brown hasn't proven himself trustworthy.
I know from what so far we read, its heavily implied Christmas is guilty. Although, it's almost like I don't want to believe it. Christmas odd behavior and foreshadowing with the reappearing razor, it seem more probable. However, we were immediately given information of Christmas and his troubles to finding a place in the polarized black and white community, causing me to sympathize with him. I can't really make up my mind basically.

ReplyDeleteI agree, something about Brown's story felt off. Like you guys said, he's probavly only in it for the reward.
ReplyDeleteFrom what we read today I think that Christmas could possibly be guilty because they showed his anger & how the razor is constantly shown.
