Joe Christmas and Joe Brown have been mysterious characters throughout the story so far. I do not know much about their story. What do you guys think of Brown and Christmas so far? Are they likable characters or is it too early to tell?
I agree that we know very little about Brown and Christmas so far, but I think I like them both. Something about their rambunctious-meets-reserved scenario strikes me as interesting. Hopefully we'll get some more character development on them soon.
I know Christmas is the protagonist in the novel, but he's not catching my attention. I adored his character description, and he has an interesting storyline finally being introduced, but it's not getting to me quite yet. As for Brown, I love to hate him. Brown's traits of being a drunk, playboy, and backstabber are all unfit for a father. It gets me thinking how Lena will handle their encounter after she abandoned her life to find him.
Well now that we've read 6 & part of 7 i feel more sympathetic towards Christmas because of how he was treated in the orphanage and then by his adoptive parents.
I think it's still to early to tell since we barely know Christmas and brown we haven't actually talked about his past or struggles.

ReplyDeleteI agree as well. It's a bit too early to tell, but so far, I think that they're not 100% liable

ReplyDeleteThey seem like cool characters. Both must have an interesting history with their current position
