"The intellect is a cleaver; it discerns and rifts its way into the secret of things"(from walden).Do you guys agree with this statement why? or why not/

  1. I agree with this statement because an intellectual must be able to discern the truth from the web of half truths and lies that surround the essence of what you are investigating.

  2. Being a intellectual doesn't necessarily believe you're wise. Take Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory for example.

    1. I agree with Jessica how does Sheldon have to do with this. I am not attempting to be rude merely to understand. Also isn't there a difference between discerning the truth and being wise?

    2. Sheldon may be smart but he is not wise, he does not understand the causes behind human actions or how to do them himself.

  3. I agree with Thoreou's statement because I believe that knowledge is the key needed to open the doors of new discoveries.
