"Maybe you ought to sleep more. And Brown said 'How much more?' and Christmas said 'maybe from now on.'" (pg. 94)
As we've seen through the flashbacks from Christmas's past, he is capable of great violence and will go through with the threat if he feels it necessary Should Christmas come back, he would surely come for Joe. What would this mean for Lena, if Joe were to be killed? What are your thoughts on this matter?
If Joe Brown were to be killed, I think it's understandable to say that she will go into shock. However, she wont be left all alone to fend for herself. Surely, Byron will be willing to take her in. Although I don't like the idea of Byron taking advantage of Brown's death to develop a closer relationship with Lena, it seems to be the most likely route that they will take.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I disagree with here is that Lena would go into shock. If Christmas were to have killed Joe Brown, I don't think Lena would be so in shock. All along I think she's always had a feeling that she wouldn't find Brown or that he'd never stick around as a father, so I think his death would only be a reality check to the gut feeling she'd had all along.
DeleteI agree with Sergio that Brown's death could certainly work to Bunch's advantage. I like Byron more than I like Joe so I would be okay with Byron being a father-figure to Lena's child.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you guys but how do we know that Christmas is going to kill Brown? I also agree that Byron will use Browns death to get closer to Lena.
ReplyDeleteNow that we have read more in the story, we know that Brown has escaped and Christmas is dead. I agree that these things have worked to Byron's advantage to get closer to Lena, I like Sierra, agree that I like him best as the father figure!
