McEachern Prediction

If some of you can remember what you put for your answer on the DBQ, one of them asked to basically make a prediction about who McEachern will be in the story. Thinking back to that, was your prediction close to what McEachern really is, or was it far off? What was it that you put that was wrong? What would you write now after seeing who this man is?

  1. I put that Mr.McEachern was the reason for Christmas being the way he is. He was the biggest reason for his personality because he raised him just as himself. I was correct because after being introduced to him I saw what kind of a cruel, harsh, and immoral type of human he is not only towards Christmas but his wife as well.

    1. True, I think Mc Eachern drove Christmas to isolation because of his mal treatment towards him especially at an impressionable stage of his life, Mc Eachern belittled him until he began to lose his own sense of identity, causing Christmas to form the familiar rough which we see now.

    3. I agree with both Nikki and Brianda. It was McEachern's fault for how Christmas had become. It caused Christmas to suppress his feelings and become an isolated, stoic man he's become.

    4. I agree with all of you, it was McEachern who really pushed Joe into the isolated, cold man he becomes. McEachern did cause Christmas to suppress his feelings. His repression caused Joe to rebel. If Joe was raised by a better family, he would not have been so austere.

    5. I agree. Mr McEachern has had an impressionable impact on Christmas. His struggle for his identity started when McEachern changed his name. Christmas has been belittled so much that he is forced to be stren, austere and isolated.
