I think Faulkner killed Christmas off to convey the message of Transcendentalism. He is believed to be a Crist figure however his is not. As I stated before, Christmas was a waspish person. He was either curing someone out or beating up someone. My point being that he died himself, he would not apologized for who he was or what he did. Maybe he did not like his life because he did not know what his race was but maybe that is a good thing. We shouldn't look at diversity as a color of skin but of how people think.
I agree, Christmas died as symbol of society injustices. He never had a chance at life because of his race. Christmas dying, shows that merely just existing in life, is not the way to live. He died himself, even if he did not really know who he was.
I agree with Adam, Christmas died for a reason and I believe that reason was because he didn't have his life together and was so confused with finding himself and it didn't seem like he would get it together any time soon.
Definitely. Throughout the novel, Christmas never fully grasped his identity and he probably used violence as a way to express himself, but he died as who he was.
I agree with Adam, he couldn't find his happiness and he didn't really know in what race to fit in probably thats the reason Faulkner decided to kill Christmas.
I agree with everyone because Christmas wasn't really the person whom he was made into. His name has a total opposite meaning of Christ's name. Christmas was his own enemy and for that death was the outcome of it.
