Bravery

During the discussion in class today, it was mentioned that Mary Warren is brave for protecting herself from John Proctor. I believe that this was very significant. The fact that she did this knowing that she could get punished is inspiring. Women didn't have much authority back then and for Mary to stand up for herself proves that she believes that women should have equal authority with men as well. Do you think she is going to tell Abigail's secret?

  1. I think that she won't because of her motives of having some kind of power and another is to save herself. Also maybe because she is scared of what Abigail might do to her.

    1. I agree, I do think she is afraid of Abigail and the power Abigail holds over many people in the town. She does also like the power she holds while being part of the court. Although she might confess to help save the Proctors. She is very conflicted between saving the Proctors or her position in the society. I Would like to see her make the right choice, but if I was her I would not know what to do.

  2. I think she is going to do what is right and tell the truth. She already went to court, she has come that far. I have faith in her that she will do the right thing.

    1. I agree with Adam, she finally has already voiced herself in court and has come that far.
