Brianda Curiel:
My Independent book essay has to do with sacrifice in humanity. What are some sacrifices you guys can think of when it comes to humanity? Or what do we sacrifice for humanity?
Us humans put at stake a lot of what is around us to progress. For example, we put at risk the oxygen that we breathe with pollution for us to have our necessities/wants driven around or manufactured. It's part of human progress, we have to sacrifice something in order to continue living modern/advanced life.
I agree with you Reyna, we put what we want ahead of what we need. We are sacrificing what helps us survive just to be able have an easier and better life. Like you said oxygen, we need oxygen to survive but when we build all these things that contradict our necessities like oxygen we are willing to sacrifice that. I think it is pretty selfish of us.
I agree Reyna, Human beings have to sacrifice things for progress. This is a sad thing. We cut down trees to build houses, we pollute the air with the cars we drive. While we should be saving the trees, we also need homes to survive in the world. I just wish we did not sacrifice so many living things for our progress.
This truly depends on the situation at risk. Take for example, your at a Hospital. The Nurse tells you there are KIDS ahead of you. They say they can treat you but, the KIDS will die, or you can let the KIDS live but yourself will die.
I agree with you Josh, humans give other humans choices that is ourselves can not bare to think about. We wouldn't know what to think at this options that they've given us, like we want the kids to live but we wanna live ourselves too. It would be such a difficult choice.
We sacrifice what will make our future better whether if it's a break up, taking a rigorous class, getting a better job that requires more work hours, or even changing our diet. Anything that will make us or significant others happy, we will do.

DeleteAgreed. Every progression made by humans means another resource given up to fit out needs and wants.
