Why did Miller use real people in his play rather than complete fictional characters? What effect did it have upon the story so far?

  1. Personally using real people gives better perspective that things such as the witch hunts and similar cases can happen in this world.

  2. True if you can incorporate historical evidence into your story with real life accounts of an event like this then it adds far more credibility and a realistic tone/mood to the story therefore making the story easier to connect with and easier to gain an outlook on how society acted in that era.

  3. Using real people could also serve is a emotional trigger to both the author and the reader.
