Why do you think Connie left Rose of Sharon and their unborn child so easily ? In the past chapters the couple seem to be in a lovely relationship. Connie seemed like a good husband and a great future parent thinking about the future of their child. What might have happened in Connie's head that made him not want to pursue all his planned ideas ? Do you think that maybe the reality of what's really happening is changing all of them for the worst ?
Yeah, I agree with you on the fact that Connie and Rose of Sharon had a lovely relationship but to me it seemed like Connie really never had a voice for himself. I mean, for me, I had more connections with the rest of the characters but with him, it just always seemed like he wasn't there, even though he was. It always seemed like the family was deciding their future and maybe Connie didn't have the nerve to tell them he didn't agree with their decisions and maybe that's why he left without saying anything:however, I do understand that he was the one that came up with the idea to separate from the family and build a new life with Rose of Sharon and the baby.I think it was mostly just an excuse to separate from the family cause he just never fit in with them and didn't feel comfortable with them and just needed to go his own way for once in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean. It was the same with Noah, I read and understood all of the characters except these two. They weren't valued like Pa said in chapter 20 Connie couldn't do anything it wasn't worth waiting to see if he would go back to the campsite they were at.
DeleteMaybe he realized that moving to California wasn't the best idea. He told Rose of Sharon as well that they should of stayed in Oklahoma. And also he new Rose of Sharon wasn't going to leave his family so he just left.
