I'm upset that Casey dies in this chapter. I'm also afraid for Tom because I think he's going to do something that will get him sent back to Oklahoma. He just keeps getting himself into trouble like killing a man with a pick handle. The last thing the Joads family needs is for another family member to walk out and leave; they have to stick together.
Yeah i think Tom made a dumb decision by killing the man but think about what was going through his head seeing one of his closest friends die right in front of him. I think it was a sudden impulse and he didn't think about it at that moment, until he ran and realized what he had done and what his actions could bring to him and his family.
ReplyDeleteI also felt sad when Casy died already when Tom had barely met him again for so long. But I don't really blame Tom for killing that man because he saw one of his best buddy get killed when Casy was clearly innocent and did no wrong. I worry for Tom now since he had caused a lot of trouble for the family. But I believe that the family will come up with a plan to protect Tom since Ma does not want anyone to leave the family.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Tom may have gotten himself into more trouble putting not only himself, but his family at stake. However, he did care for Casy very much and I think he did that to get revenge on what the officers did. I think Tom is going to leave his family for good and is going to find a better life.
ReplyDeleteI have a bad feeling that the whole family is going to fall apart...
