Betty
I think Betty is pretty interesting at this point. She was dancing in the woods with a kettle on a fire, creating a love potion with a so called witch, and apparently saw the devil but faints when she sees her dad? My guess is that she's faking her coma to cover up or make people pity her so they will forget what she was going. The moment she hears that by ratting out other people they will not be killed she wakes up and rats out Abigail.

If so then she must have been 80% sure that her co-conspirators would have stopped her from attempting to fly. I just cannot attribute such planning to someone who I am pretty sure is 10 years old.

DeleteBut seriously. I think you both are right to an extent. She probably was faking a little, however, I don't think the window incident was planned to make her look innocent. I think it was a genuine suicide attempt, to escape the punishment she knew she would face.

DeleteI agree with Fatima, it does seem like she faked being in a coma so she wouldn't get in a lot of trouble. Also for Jovanni, you shouldn't underestimate her just because she is 10 years old. I feel she could be capable of planning all of that.

DeleteI agree with Jovanni. No ten year old, especially, in a puritan society is that mischievous. I highly doubt she planned and or faked all of that. Even if she was older she would have to be more manipulating than Abigail to do such a thing, with success.
