Chapter 8
Me and Katherine were talking about chapter eight and we came across the part when Christmas tells the girl that he thinks he's biracial . We infered she kind of rejected him and therefore we can see why he might dislike women now . Christmas likes this girl and maybe now that she knows that he is partly black she losses her connection with him . What go you guys think ?

Well I think even if he wasn't biracial, she would still be distant from him because she's a prostitute. However, because Christmas knows he is not accepted in society because of his ethnicity, he thinks that his race is why she becomes even more distant from him.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you guys inferred from that situation. However, I also think that it's not just that he's biracial but it's also that he didn't quite get the point that she's an easy woman, he just thought she rejected him and maybe he's just holding a grudge on her for her rejection.
ReplyDeleteFrom: Jessica Yanez - Like everyone has mentioned, Christmas saying he's bi-racial and that seems to throw Bobbie off a bit. She isn't quite comfortable with knowing that but I feel as if she would have become more distant from him anyways because of what she does. That comment just added to it. At least, that's what I think/feel.
