During chapter 19 the reoccurring chess movements are seen and created quite a bit of curiosity. What do you guy think about the reference? For me, I feel as it the chess thing represents an idea that the characters are just the chess pieces being controled by something great and as much as it seems the characters are in control of their actions they're not.
well the only character that feels like he's part of a chess game is Percy Grimm, and he's the one who kills Christmas, so it seems like he's doing that for justification. Like we mentioned in class, he's not a man anymore. He's become savage so something besides his conscious, logical mind is controlling his actions.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Marissa. Grimm sees himself as a chess piece in someone else's games, which allows him to justify his actions as fate.
